Northern Territory Drone Industry Network (NTdin) is an unincorporated collaborative group of business, industry, academia, government and civilians who have shared interest in developing and leading a vibrant and strong drone ecosystem in the Territory. NTdin is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information.
We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The NPPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information.

What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?
Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples of Personal Information we collect includes names, addresses, email addresses, phone and facsimile numbers.
This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including [interviews, correspondence, by telephone and facsimile, by email, via our website ntdin.au, from your website, from media and publications, from other publicly available sources, from cookies and from third parties. We don’t guarantee website links or policy of authorised third parties.
We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you, and to generally drive a vibrant and strong drone ecosystem that is connected, collaborative, and focussed on developing world class solutions to the geographic, environmental and economic benefit of the Northern Territory. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting us in writing.
When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.

NTdin will not charge any fee for your access request, but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information.
In order to protect your Personal Information we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.

It is an important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. 2.1. Respect and Professionalism: All social media interactions related to the NTDIN should be conducted with respect and professionalism. Members are expected to adhere to ethical standards and avoid engaging in any behaviour that may harm the reputation of the NTDIN or its stakeholders.
2.2. Accuracy and Transparency: Information shared on social media platforms should be accurate, truthful, and transparent. Members should verify the credibility of sources before sharing information and disclose any conflicts of interest to the NTDIN committee then applicable.
2.3. Compliance with Laws and Regulations: Members must comply with all relevant laws and regulations governing social media use, including but not limited to copyright, privacy, and defamation laws. Any content that violates these laws or regulations is strictly prohibited.
2.4. Protection of Confidential Information: Members must not disclose confidential or proprietary information related to the NTDIN, its stakeholders, or any ongoing projects without proper authorisation. This includes sensitive information about individuals, organisations, or government entities.
3. Content Guidelines
3.1. Relevance: All content posted on social media platforms should be relevant to the objectives and scope of the NTDIN as outlined in the Vision, Purpose and Scope sections of the NT Drones Industry Committee Terms of Reference.
3.2. Promotion of Diversity and Inclusiveness: Members should actively promote diversity and inclusiveness in their social media interactions, fostering an environment where all individuals feel valued and respected regardless of their background or identity.
3.3. Safety and Responsibility: Content that promotes safe and responsible drone use is encouraged. Members should refrain from sharing or endorsing content that promotes unsafe practices or violates regulations related to drone operation.
3.4. Avoid Controversial Topics: Members should exercise caution when discussing controversial topics on social media platforms. While respectful debate and discussion are encouraged, inflammatory or divisive content should be avoided to maintain a positive and constructive online environment.
4. Prohibited Content
4.1. Illegal or Harmful Content: Members must not post or share content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive. This includes but is not limited to hate speech, discrimination, harassment, threats, or violence.
4.2. Confidential Information: Members must not disclose confidential or proprietary information without proper authorisation, as outlined in Section 2.4 of this policy.
4.3. Misleading Information: Members must not knowingly share false or misleading information on social media platforms. This includes misinformation about drone technology, regulations, or the activities of the NTDIN, including its elected committee.
5. Enforcement
Violation of this social media policy may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to warning, suspension, or removal of membership from the NTDIN. The Committee reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to any breaches of this policy.

This social media policy shall be reviewed periodically to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Amendments may be made as necessary to address emerging issues or changes in social media trends and practices. Any proposed amendments to this policy shall be subject to approval by the NTDIN Committee.
